A few months back I reported the great news that the youth football club, the scouts / beavers and music clubs all received youth funding. These groups were told about the funding they applied and it was granted.

There is a further £2,000 available that needs to be spent by the end of the year. This money is made available specifically for youth projects, services or activities. To be clear this isn’t one lump some. This is the total amount to be divided up between applicants in SW Shropshire.

This is a great opportunity for existing groups to purchase equipment or for anyone who is thinking of starting a youth group this is a great way to get things you need to get started.

Last year in a group meeting with the council, in an effort to stop youth funding cuts, I made the point that in SW we would make real effective use of any money we receive. I would like to prove that point by making every penny count towards enriching the lives and activities of our local youth.

If you don’t have time to run a youth group, but have great ideas. Please comment below I can work towards trying to implement them.

Please email me at jonny.keeley@shropshire.gov.uk with any questions on how to apply for youth funding.
