It’s been a few weeks since the local elections and the dust is starting to settle. This is a post just to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me during the election and everyone who came out and voted. The turnout in bishops castle was way higher than the average locally and nationally.

I ended up with a huge majority of the vote and many of those votes were cross party. I think the main reason I got such a high majority is that in our community we are used to working together. We recognise that our local issues are far more complicated than simply choosing a party that says they will fix it.

I also want to say a huge thank you to the local  Green Party who endorsed me a few days before the election. It is this kind of rational  and colaborative thinking that means I can focus my efforts on achieving goals rather than winning elections. I believe that in SW Shropshire we are ahead of the curve.

I would like to add that with such endorsements and cross party votes comes a responsibility to deliver for everyone in the area, I would obviously reach for this anyway. However I absolutely recognise this and understand that progressive thinking works both ways.

Keep in touch everyone.

And once again Thank You!
