This Saturday I paid a visit to a relatively new Record shop in Oswestry specialising in vinyl records. A short drive from my home town and easy to find. Gordon, the owner, seemed a really nice genuine chap. I brought a Fight The Bear vinyl with me as a late house warming gift which he very kindly placed in the window.

Over the years I have bought the odd vinyl record here and there but really just for the sake of novelty. It didn’t take me long to fill my boots whilst browsing his shop. He has a great range of everything old, new and brand new.. rare and classic.

Here’s what we found (photos below)

Broken Bells – Meyrin Fields EP
U2 – Joshua Tree
Talking Heads – Stop Making Sense
Dire Straits – Brothers in Arms
Bob Marley – Legend
Jack Johnson – Brushfire Fairytales

This was my first visit, I will be visiting again soon as I’m dropping in a bunch of Fight The Bear CD’s and Vinyl’s. Gordon’s support for local bands is selfless and enthusiastic.

I hope the people of Oswestry and the surrounding area are appreciating his efforts and taking advantage of this great independent record shop.

I find it really encouraging to see indie shops growing. I now have a new reason to visit Oswestry.
